The Capitol Steps Come to Cranwell!

Enjoy a hilarious evening of American political satire and song parodies with the nationally acclaimed Capitol Steps.

The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!"), and although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.

Since they began in 1981, the Capitol Steps have recorded 29 albums, including “Obama Mia.” They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard 4 times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their "Politics Takes a Holiday" radio specials.

They’ll be performing songs from their latest albums “Obama Mia” and “Campaign and Suffering,” as well as other current issues in the news. The show promises to hit both sides of the aisle and the songs will change with the scandal of the day. So, if something big happens in the news, you can run to the Capitol Steps show and find out exactly what rhymes with it!

Convenient pre-show dining is available at our elegant Wyndhurst Restaurant in the Mansion or at Sloane’s Taven with the option of outdoor terrace seating overlooking the golf course. After the show, we offer a late-dining menu until 11:00 in the Mansion, including a wide selection of International coffees and sumptuous desserts.
